He was predeceased by: his parent Nellie Cauley; and his siblings, Eula Mae Cauley Westbrook, C. B. Cauley and James F. Cauley. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Pearce Cauley; and his brother Thomas Edward Cauley of Kinston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
