He was predeceased by: his son Dean Brandon Cox; his parents, George Wooten Cox and Ruth Hill Cox; and his parents-in-law, Ira Bernard Baker and Bertha Smith Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Baker Cox; his son Derek Baxter Cox (Rebecca) of Leland; his grandchildren, Kacen Blade Wooten Cox and Elizabeth Smith; and his brother George Wooten Cox II.
