He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Ottinger and Georgie Ottinger; and his brother Robert "Bobby" Ottinger. He is survived by: his wife Gail; his son Bernie; his daughter-in-law Laura of LaGrange; his grandchildren, Megan Rose (Allen) of Mt. Olive and Cole Ottinger (Mackenzie) of Wilmington; and his great grandchildren, Carsyn, Jessa and Whitley.
