He is survived by: his children, Robert Gooding, Jr. of Suffolk, VA, Steven Gooding of Wilmington, NC, Frances Gooding of Kinston and Barbara Dale of Newport News, VA. He is also survived by four granddaughters; one grandson; two great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons, and many special nieces and nephews.
