He was predeceased by: his mother Jannie Elizabeth Coombs; his daughter Cindee Shirley; and his brother Jackie Coombs. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Skinner Coombs; his children, Alanna Cunningham (David) of Kinston, Wendy Evans (Gary) of Ayden, Sandi Baggs (Ricky) of Cape Carteret and Roy Alan Coombs II of Kinston; his grandchildren, Anna Cunningham, Joshua Evans, Jennifer Evans, Samantha Giancarlo and Kevin Baggs; his great grandchildren, Liam Evans, Adelyn Evans and Madilyn Long; and his nephew Russell Coombs.
