He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddy Johnson and Jean Leazer Johnson. He is survived by: his close friend Rudy; his wife Paige Mullinix Johnson of Kinston; his son James Michael Johnson (Jennifer Nielsen) of Greenville; and his brothers, Russell Johnson and Terry Johnson.
