He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Taylor Smith and Vance Smith. He is survived by: his friend Gene Carden of Delta; his wife Sue Turner Smith; his granddaughters, Harper Leigh and Laura Jane Moye; his pets, Tuff, Rosie and Roman; his uncle Bobby Hunter of Kinston; and his cousins, Sheila Hunter-White (Tom) of Winterville, Betty Carol Tyndall (Lester) of Deep Run, Harvey Tyndall of Deep Run and Stanley Taylor Jr..
