He was predeceased by: his wife Ethel S. Jarman; and his siblings, Elsie Jarman Davis and Remus Rouse Jones. He is survived by: his children, Susie Carol Jarman Carter (Larry) of Kinston and William "Mike" Jarman (Alice) of La Grange; his grandchildren, Lawrence Edward Carter (Stacie) of Kinston, Becky Carter Peyton (David) of Kinston, Michael J. Jarman (Teri) of La Grange and Mandy Jarman Odom (Ray) of La Grange; his great grandchildren, Samantha, Logan, Bentley, Anna Beth, Ally, Griffin and Brandon; his sister Patricia Fox of Supply; and his nieces, Toni, Peggy and Teresa.
Due to the current pandemic, the service will be held outside with social distancing and face masks required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Highway 11 North, Kinston, NC in care of Treasurer, 3829 Ferrell Road, Kinston, NC 28501.
