He was predeceased by: his parents, William Briley Smith II and Laura Taylor Smith; his wife Vivian "Carrol" Sumrell Smith; his daughter Brenda Smith Taylor; and his siblings, George Smith, Hazel Smith Marcom, Charles Smith, Franklin Miller and Robert Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Peggy Smith Mallard (Bill) and William "Briley" Smith IV (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Marenda Everett (Ernie), Blake Taylor (Tonya), Chad Barwick (Nicole), Josh Barwick (Candice), Allison Siebel, Emily Smith and Caroline Smith; and his great grandchildren, Courtney Taylor, Jackson Rogers, Christopher Rogers, Emmie Rogers, Isabel Siebel, William Siebel, Braelyn Barwick, Tinsley Barwick and Grey Barwick. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
