She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Smith Whitfield and George Ashley Whitfield. She is survived by: her sister Karolyn W. Quidley; her nieces, Mary Quidley, Gracie Quidley, Susan Quidley and Karol Quidley; her nephew Willie Quidley; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lane Quidley, Beaman Hines, Jr., Annaleigh Hines and Ashley Quidley.
Miss Whitfield requested that memorial donations be made to Albemarle Home Care and Hospice (408 Hastings Lane, Elizabeth City, NC 27909) or Dare Hospice (PO Box 669, Manteo, NC 27954).
