He was predeceased by: his sister Lucille McManaway of Wake Forest; his wife Anne Neal Ellington; and his daughter Sandra E. Bridgers. He is survived by: his children, Karen Ellington (Warren) of Wake Forest, Cheryl E. Kelley (Don) of Raleigh and Beverly E. Townsend (Mike) of Concord; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tony), Stephanie, Jeremy (Betsy), Jennifer (Dustin), Megan (Melissa) and Justin; and his great grandchildren, Landon (Ally), Cayson, Michael and Rylan.
