He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Thelma Jean Price Shaw; his children, Jason Bates (Victoria) of Wendell and Elizabeth Beck (Nelson) of Knightdale; his stepdaughter Jessica Hendershot (Mike) of Wendell; his grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Colton, Braddock, Robert, Lillian, Charlotte and Lacie; his sister Elaine Wade; and his stepdaughter Sandy Walker.
