He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Sada Ruth Edwards Smith; and his wife Joyce Marie Glover Smith. He is survived by: his son Kerry Mitchell Smith (Caroline) of Henrico, Virginia; and his grandchildren, Taylor Crumley (Kevin), Josh Smith and John Mark Smith.
