Wilbur Ivan Jackson Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wilbur Ivan Jackson of Knightdale, North Carolina, born in Ayden, North Carolina, who passed away on November 29, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Brown Taylor Jackson and Richard Guy Jackson; and his sisters, Eleanor Grice, Virginia Tucker, Florence Brown Jackson, Susan Noble and Hannah Whitesell.

He is survived by: his sister Patricia Brown; his brother-in-law Charlie Brown of Washington, NC; his wife Carolyn of Knightdale, NC; his children, Michael Jackson (Debbie) of Mooresville, NC, Laura Barbee (Jim) of Occoquan, VA, Myra Leigh Stoffregen (Joe) of Raleigh, NC, Ryan Gibbs (Sarah) of Raleigh, NC and Jennifer Gibbs of Charlottesville, VA.; his grandchildren, Jamie Barbee Sherar (Paul), Jackson Barbee, Anne Barbee Harris (Jake), Mitchell Barbee, Cintia Cordeiro "Barbee", Olivia Stoffregen Bauerle (Garrett), Sam Stoffregen, John Stoffregen, Khofifa Safira "Stoffregen", Ellie Gibbs, Miles Gibbs and Giselly Cordeiro "Jackson"; and his great grandchildren, Lucy, Ava, Baby Sherar and Nolan Harris. He is also survived by his niece and ten nephews.

Private interment will follow later in the day in Ayden, N. C., at 2:30 P. M. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life service will be scheduled for the late spring.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Doorstep Ministry at Edenton Street UMC (https: //esumc.org/doorstep-ministry/), the Green Chair Project (https: //thegreenchair.org/), or to Side by Side Alliance (https: //sidebysidealliance.org), a nonprofit ministry doing poverty alleviation work in the Philippines (started by Wil's daughter and son-in-law).
