She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin L. Sutton and Ethel May Barnes Sutton; and her husband Earl Hoffman. She is survived by: her children, Debbie Garner (Gerald), Eric Hoffman (Allison) and Terry Hoffman (Karen); her grandchildren, Rick Jackson, Angel Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Jaime Jackson, Craige Hoffman, Scott Hoffman, Hunter Hoffman and Savannah Hoffman; and her brother Charles Sutton (Marion). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in memory of Jean to Neuse Baptist Church, 2909 West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, NC 28504.
