He was predeceased by: his parents, David Mercer and Ethel McCumbee Mercer; and his wife Janice Etheridge Mercer. He is survived by: his children, Randy Mercer (Robin) of Old Dock and Kimberly Mercer Boswell (Franklin) of Pikeville; his brother-in-law Randall Etheridge (Ann) of Lake Waccamaw; his grandchildren, Landon Coleman, Samantha Mercer, Chase Mercer and Evan Mercer; and his stepgrandchildren, Cortney B. Laub and Cameron Boswell.
