He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Curtis Moore and Marybelle Flowe Moore; his siblings, Coleen Hill and Larry Moore; and his pets, Freddie, Bo, Luke, Bejux, Brownie, Bubba, Dusty, Cody, Pepper and Tippy.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Smith Moore; his son Chris Moore (Jennifer) of Hillsborough, NC; his grandchildren, Eleanor Curtis Moore (Chapel Hill), Ryder Brooks Moore and Cooper Brann Moore (Hillsborough); and his sibling's children, Curtis Moore (Goose Creek), Kyle Hill (Monroe), Donna Hill (Charlotte) and Laura Hunt.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Reformed Church of Landis (210 N Central Ave, Landis, NC 28088).
In honor of Brooks' lifelong love for animals, memorials may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary (https://faithfulfriendsnc.org) in Salisbury.
