He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley "Buck" Herndon and Lydia Hicks Herndon; his brother Tommy Edward Herndon; and his niece Hope Norton. He is survived by: his daughter Jerri Herndon of Laurel Hill; his sister Debbie H. Eggleston (Lee) of Waxsaw; his grandson Austin Stephen Johnson; and his sibling's children, Paula Hicks, David Herndon, Chris Giddens, Scott Eggleston, Don Eggleston, Gina Tyson and David Riley.
