It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bertha Mae Laviner (Laurinburg, North Carolina), born in Norwood, North Carolina, who passed away on January 28, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Enos Monroe Luther and Violet Shue Luther; her son Larry Franklin Laviner; and her siblings, Carl Luther, Lorene Luther Wencil and Martha Luther Vick.
She is survived by: her husband James Laviner; her children, James "Michael" Laviner (Karen Jackson Laviner) of Wagram and Melaine J. Laviner (Bill Sutherland) of Wagram; her sister Mary Cornelius Luther Harden of Wabash, IN; her grandsons, Michael "David" Laviner (Kimberly McLean Laviner) and James Robert Laviner (Beverly Medlin); her great grandchildren, Kaylee Laviner Locklear (Zachary Locklear), Lauren Olivia Laviner and James Sawyer Laviner; and her great great grandchildren, Averly Harper Locklear and Jameson David Locklear. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, extended family and her church family.
In recognition of the loving care given by the staff of Hospice, the family requests memorial donations to be given to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
