It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Hasty (Laurinburg, North Carolina), who passed away on August 22, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband John C. "Pete" Hasty; her parents, T. B. Upchurch, Jr. and Anne Hoyl Upchurch; her children, John Hasty (Liz) of Wagram, Flora McCook (Guy) of Laurinburg and Elizabeth Sutton (Steve) of Troy; her grandchildren, Currie McClenathan (Michael) of Raleigh, Natalie McCook of Raleigh, Thomas Sutton of Raleigh, Laura Hasty and Belle McClenathan; her sister Eloise Carter of Raeford; her sibling's children, William Carter (Leigh) of Laurinburg and Talmage Payne of Greensboro; her great-nieces, Claire, Carleigh and Kate Carter; and her great-nephew Wil Payne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 106 W Dr. M. L. King Jr., Drive, Maxton, NC 28364 or Scotland Memorial Foundation, 500 Lauchwood Drive, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
