He is survived by: his sons, Richard Grooms of Parkton and Fairley Lee Grooms, Jr. of Parkton; and his grandsons, Fairley Grooms III, Noah Lovejoy, Jeffery Hyatt, Andrew Edge and Phillip Grooms.
