He was predeceased by: his parents, Arch Duke Howell and Mildred Mussellwhite Howell; and his brothers, Jimmy Howell (Pete) of Lumberton and Fred Howell. He is survived by: his wife Frances I. Howell; and his sons, Gilbert Howell, Jr. (Tracy) of Hope Mills, Steve Howell (Elizabeth) of Hope Mills, Kelvin Howell (Shirley) of Laurinburg and Randy Howell (Kelly) of Sanford. He is also survived by grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews.
