She was predeceased by: her parents, Earlie Simmons and Nonnie Simmons; and her spouse Seavy Averitt. She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Averitt (Lynne) of Laurinburg, Gay Lewis of Laurinburg and Gail Helms (Larry) of Rock Hill, SC; her brothers, Sammy Ray Simmons (Linda) of Laurinburg and Don Simmons (Sandy) of Hickory; and her grandchildren, Myles Johnson (Marisa), Diana Graves (Bill), Shaw Lewis, III (Lyn), Chad Chance (April), Ashley Chance (Beth), Lauren Averitt and Allison Averitt. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorial donations may be given in her memory to the First Baptist Church, P.O. 883, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
