Lillie Turner Obituary
Lillie Mae Long Turner was the loving daughter of the late Dock and Maude Carroll Long born April 25, 1938 in Aynor, South Carolina. She dedicated her life to caring for her children as a homemaker while also working in textiles retiring from WestPoint Stevens, Inc., after many years of service. She served as a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Lillie loved sharing time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, riding in the Sandhills, boating and gardening. She especially enjoyed caring for her grand dogs. Lillie was a wonderful mother, loving grandmother, aunt and friend who will truly be missed. She passed away at the age of 83 on December 13, 2021.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Pam McVicker; grandson, Rodney Lynn Turner; brothers, Lacy "Bud" Long, and Billy Joe Long; sisters, Macie Clark, Gracie Floyd, Pauline Strickland, Earline Clark, and Willa Faye Skipper.
Lillie is survived by her children, Phyllis Pruitt and husband, Ricky of Mebane, NC, Jimmy Turner of Laurinburg, NC, Dennis Turner and wife, Teresa of Laurinburg, NC, Susan Medlin and fiancé, Allen Riddle of Statesville, NC; grandchildren, Phillip Mauldin, Gary Mauldin, Bryan Medlin, Eric Mace, Travis Mace; eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren along with a host of loving nieces, nephews and her many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Dr. Thomas Marshall. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
