She was predeceased by: her parents, John Willie Lee and Charity Tyler Lee; her spouse Curley Smith; her children, Janice Gallagher and Dwight F. "Cat" Smith; and her siblings, Johnny Lee, James "Jimbo" Lee, Betty Ruth Chavis, Lilly Ray Locklear, Etherine Hardin, Lessie Scott, Ida Mae Hardin and Lola Bee Scott.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Smith (Pamela) of Maryland, Anthony Smith of Laurinburg, Don R. "Snoody" Smith (Karen) of Lumberton, Ellen Drew Hardin of Laurinburg, Claire Mathena of Laurinburg, Delilah Chavis of Laurinburg and Laura Kim Lowery (Jake) of Fairmont; and her sister Nellie Grey Morgan of Charlotte. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
