She was predeceased by: her parents, William Everette Peele and Hazel Goodwin Peele; her husband Michael Cox; and her brother W. E. Peele, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Hamp Walters (Tina) of Gastonia, Chris Cox (Angie) of Laurel Hill and Jennifer Walters Smith (Rayford) of Laurel Hill; her brothers, Shuler Peele (Madeline) of Gibson and Gary Peele (Patricia) of Hamlet; and her grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Casey Barfield, Molly Walters, Ryan Walters, Payson Cox, Jayden Cooper, Marley Barfield, Titus Walters, Liam Walters, Hudson Walters and Jennings Barfield.
Due to the current COVID-19 Mandates and to ensure public safety, masks are requested to be worn and attendance will be limited for services.
The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations to be given to Scotland Regional Hospice for Morrison Manor, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
