It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Jean Woodard of Laurinburg, North Carolina, who passed away on January 24, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy W. Chavis and Winnie Bell Oxendine Chavis; her husband James Woodard; her son Freddy Clark; and her siblings, Paul Chavis, Sr. (Doc), William "Buster" Robert Chavis, Roy W. Chavis, Jr., James Chavis (Silva), George Chavis, Howard Chavis and Katherine Butler.
She is survived by: her children, Jessie Clark (Shelley) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Audrey Chavis (Chris) of Maxton, Pamela Thompson (Steve) of Columbia, TN. and Kevin Clark of Laurinburg; and her siblings, Ashley Chavis, Roger Chavis, Charles Chavis, Shirley Kee (Jimmy), Fannie Brewer (Daryl), Lavon Player and Dorothy Thompson. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
