He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Charles Bowyer, Sr. and Essie Chavis Bowyer; his siblings, Roland "Charles" Bowyer, Jr., Franklin Cecil Bowyer and Sally Annette Bowyer; and his brothers-in-law, Woodrow Wilson Roberts and Linwood Roberts.

He is survived by: his siblings, Mike Bowyer (Ann) of Laurel Hill, NC, Jean Brown (Arthur) of Laurinburg, NC, Christine Roberts of Laurel Hill, NC, Carolyn Bowyer of Greenwood, MS, Hilda Robert-Freeman (Wayne) of Florence, SC, Lois Bowyer of Cornelius, NC and Pat Roberson (Garry) of Laurinburg, NC. He is also survived by his many nieces, and nephews.
