It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Ann Chavis (Laurinburg, North Carolina), who passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Phillip E. Chavis; her sons, Kenneth Ray Jones of Maxton and Chad Chavis (Diana) of Laurinburg; her siblings, Clilton Barton, Jr. of Monroe, Garth Jacobs of Maxton, Clayton Locklear of Prospect, Sandra Dial of Maxton, Renee Jones of Maxton, Audrey Lowery of Laurinburg, Traina Locklear of Maxton, Vannessa Hammonds of Maxton, Sandra Calhoun of Maxton, Lisa Counsellor of Maxton and Robin Smith of Monroe; her grandson Zeb Thunder Locklear-Chavis; and her friend Jean Strickland. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
