He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Brooks and Betsy Roller Brooks; his son Brandon Brooks; his great grandchild Oliver Sebastin Bell; and his son-in-law William Oxendine.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Locklear Brooks; and his children, William Bennett Brooks (Billy) of Raeford, David Brooks (Delores) of West End, Charles Raymond Brooks (April) of Laurinburg, Braderick Eddie Brooks (Candice) of Lumberton, Sherry Oxendine of Wagram, Frances Nikol (Jerry) of Linthicum Maryland, Bessie Lee Brooks (Beth) of Raeford, Mary Margaret Pizzino (Steven) of Ludowici and Debra Brooks Grant (William) of Aberdeen. He is also survived by twenty five grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, a host of all the children.
