It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Jean Norwood (Lenoir, North Carolina), who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Sandra Jean's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Clayton Arnett, Jack Arnett and Karen Townsend. She is survived by: her children, Tommy Norwood, Jeff Norwood (Belinda Walker), Sharon Sanders (Luther Penley), Darren Eller and Junior Hicks; and her siblings, Gordon Townsend (Kathy), Dwayne Townsend (Janice), Betty Mahaffey (Doug) and Faye Shepherd. She is also survived by seven grandchildren plus three bonus grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren with one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lenoir Seventh Day Adventist Church (518 Pennell St NE, Lenoir, NC 28645). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
