He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Monica McBride Keaton; his children, Tina Keaton (Sid) and Carl Keaton Jr. (Kim); his grandchildren, Summer Lashley, James Charles, Zack Ridings and Jacob Penley; and his siblings, Faye Flynn, Linda Hanes, Tim Keaton (Kay) and Jimmy Keaton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the WG Hefner VA Medical Center, 1695 Kernersville Medical Parkway, Kernersville, NC 27284 to assist disabled veterans in their time of need.
