She was predeceased by : her parents, Mary Albertine Hunter Phifer and Fred Benjamin Phifer of Statesville, NC.; her husband Elmo Davis "Jack" Sparks, Jr.; and her children, Cynthia Sparks Jones and John Sparks.

She is survived by : her sons, Jim Sparks of Lewisville and Drew Sparks of Lewisville; her grandchildren, Katie Jones (Ehsan Tabari) of San Francisco, CA, Amy Jones of Winston-Salem, Desmond Harris of Lewisville and Richard Jones; and her son-in-law Rick Jones of Clemmons.
