He is survived by: his wife Margaret Beck Burkhart; his daughters, Susan Burkhart Ward (Chip) of Inman and Joni Burkhart Mills (Ralph) of Lexington; his grandchildren, John Zachary Ward (Kendall), Ashley Mills Leonard (Jeremy), Morgan Ward Blount (Rob), Emily Mills Frank (Chaz) and Adam Alexander Mills (Lindsay); his great grandchild Harper Elizabeth Leonard; his sister Betty Jean Burkhart Shoaf; and his sisters-in-law, Imogene Burkhart and Jane Burkhart.
