He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ray and Mary Stokes Tripp; his siblings, John Tripp, Carl Tripp, Mary Stallings and Gaynell Tripp; and his granddaughter Candace Tripp Schultz.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Koonts Tripp; his children, Teresa Watkins (Skeeter) of Denton, Gloria Lanier (Ricky), Cathy Everhart (Steve) and Spencer Tripp, Jr. (Missy) of Lexington; and his grandchildren, Angela Cates, Tiffany Lawson, Danielle Watkins, Ashley Watkins, Travis Lanning, Jessica Lowe, Brandon Herr, Keri Tripp Lambert, Nathan Tripp, Haven Everhart, Bradley Everhart, Corey Everhart, Andrew Everhart, Ashley Pastrana and Bradley Allred.
