He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jean Ellis, Sr. and Hazel Rose Lackey Ellis; his sister Sallie Newell; his father-in-law Don Prothe; and his brother-in-law Walter Price.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Prothe Ellis; his sons, William "Willie" Jean Ellis, III (Sara) of Vancouver, WA, Alexander James Ellis (Karin) of Vancouver, WA and Zachary Erick Ellis (Sharon) of Hanover, MD; his grandchildren, Logan Arthur Gales-Ellis, Parker Liam Gales-Ellis and Josephine Jean Ellis; and his siblings, Robert "Robin" Ellis (Vauda), Susan Price and Sharon Burger. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
