He was predeceased by : his parents, Grover Woody and Nellie Waycaster Woody; his brothers, Mack Lewis, Swan Woody, Dee Woody and Paul Woody; and his half-sister Vonsel Westmoreland.

He is survived by : his son Jimmy Woody, Jr. (Trisha Carr) of Dallas; and his brothers, Tommy Glen Lewis of Statesville, Donald Woody of Marion and Ervin "James" Waycaster of Cherryville.
