He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Phil; his parents, Giuseppe Taranto (Joseph) and Elena Taranto (Helen); his spouse Linda Taranto; his son Joseph Taranto; his grandchildren, Jennifer Taranto (Tommy Vitolo), Samantha Taranto, Christopher Taranto, Felice Vitolo and Angelina Vitolo; and his sister Marion DeGennaro.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Phil's honor to the Linden Fireman's Association and the Carver's Creek Fireman's Association.
