He was predeceased by : his parents, Alonzo Taylor Moretz and Clorette Sigmon Moretz; his son-in-law Roger Jonas; and his siblings, Martha Simpson and Taylor Moretz Jr..

He is survived by : his children, Jodi Jonas of Vale, Ashley Moretz (Barbara) of Hickory and Austin Moretz; his girlfriend Natalie Shaw of Linville Falls, NC.; his grandchildren, Jordan Elliott of Vale and Jessie Elliott of Vale; his sister Brenda Finley (Bob) and his brother Terry Moretz (Crystal) of Vale.
