He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Evelyn Hill Colbert; his daughter Amanda Leigh Colbert; his stepson Shawn Dale Davis; and his brother-in-law Bobby Joyner.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Colbert; his grandsons, Jaylan Henry Begley of Wilson, Skyler Eli Evans of Rose Hill and Joseph Benjamin Pittman of Richlands; his stepson Anthony James Davis of Rose Hill; his son-in-law Jaylan "JJ" Begley of Wilson; his sisters, Jean Colbert Waters (Tommy) of Rocky Mount, Becky Colbert Joyner of Rocky Mount and Liz Colbert Joyner (William) of Gold Rock; and his pet Charlie Ray. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Gospel Missionary Baptist Church (8444 Town Creek Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27803). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Davis-Little Funerals to assist with expenses.
