He was predeceased by : his parents, Ellie Ward and Mamie Watson Ward; his wife Anna Faye Pridgen Ward; his brothers, Billy Ward and James Ward; and his nephew Billy Gray Ward, Jr..

He is survived by : his daughters, Amy Ward and Lisa Ward; his sister-in-law Doris Ward; and his nephew Michael Ward (Nora).
