It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo Vanscyoc (Lumberton, North Carolina), who passed away on October 14, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hardin and Hazel Edwards Wilkerson; her husband Gerald Vanscyoc; her stepfather Grover Wilkerson; her siblings, Elmer Hardin, Brenda Guill, Lola Bullard and Judy Valencia; and her granddaughter Courtney Cochran.
She is survived by: her children, Hubert Freeman (Cindy) of Winston-Salem, NC, Sabrina Owens (Greg) of Fayetteville, NC, Carolyn Starnes (Reese) of Lumberton and Patty Cochran (Paul) of Ft. Worth, TX; and her siblings, Charles Hardin of Charleston, SC and Shelby Cummings of Sanford, NC.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
