She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Prevatte and Ada Phillips Prevatte. She is survived by: her husband James Thomas Monroe; and her son James Anthony "Tony" Monroe (Mary) of Lumberton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, two great nieces and one great-nephew.
