He was predeceased by: his daughter Cynthia Freeman; and his brother Mitchell Freeman. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Townsend Freeman; his son William Bradford Freeman (Teresa) of Holly Springs, NC; his grandchildren, Daniel Freeman, Anna Carr (Alex) and Emily Cummings (Dylan); and his sister Betty Rodgers of Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Raft Swamp Baptist Church, PO Box 1314, Lumberton, NC 28359, or to Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC 28358.
