He was predeceased by: his parents, McKinley Washington and Rosa Thompson Washington; and his siblings, John H., Roscoe, David, Roy, Magdalene Humphrey, Joyce King, Eddie Ruth Washington and Louise Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Syvalla Morrison Washington; his children, Ira Daniel Washington, Jr (Portia) of Fayetteville, NC, Linda Washington Bostic (Maceo) of Lumberton, NC, Sandra Washington Tilman (Sammie) of Lumberton, NC, Aliesa Washington of Lumberton, NC, Diana Washington Collins (Al) of Lumberton, NC and Richard Washington (Lisa) of Cameron, NC; his siblings, W. C. Washington (Joan) of Bladenboro, NC, Martha King of Lumberton, NC and Christine Thomas of Lumberton, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Stepp of Corapolis, PA and Mary Washington of Lumberton, NC. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
