She was predeceased by: her husband Neil Monroe; her daughter Marla June Monroe; and her siblings, Louise Moore, Evelyn Gooden, Ethel Carroll, Elmer Dowless and Woodie Dowless.
She is survived by: her daughters, Malissa Allen (Donald) of Lumberton and Teresa Wiles (John) of Council; her grandchildren, Wingate Grimes (Maria) of Holly Springs, Cindy Grimes of Wilmington and Marla Allen of Lumberton; her great grandchildren, Brinley Mercer and Isabella Stoffel; and her brother-in-law George Monroe of Tar Heel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
