She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Britt and Eloise Walters Britt; her former husband Chappell Sessoms; her husband Robert Stewart; her daughter Jeanette Sessoms Poston; her granddaughter Dawn Poston Bingham; and her siblings, Robert Britt, Ralph Britt, Pitman Britt, Elsie Kinlaw, Dale Smith and Vashti Musselwhite.
She is survived by: her sisters, Inez Smith and Eloise Talley; and her grandchildren, Ronda Benfield (Randy) and Donald Edward Poston II. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.
