He was predeceased by: his wife Dovie Carter; and his daughter Marcia Carter English. He is survived by: his daughter Terri Carter Collins (Kenny) of Lumberton; and his stepdaughters, LaDonna Stone Adams and Wanda Britt. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
