He is survived by: his child Perfect Attendance; his wife Evelyn Doris Hammond (Chavis); his children, LeJeana Hammond-Wood (Mike) of Kure Beach, Amelia Hammond Tanon (Edgardo) of Raleigh and Jeffery Hammond (Luanne) of Cary; his sisters, Mary Uzel of Richmond and Sylvia Pieper of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Daniel, Hannah, Grace and Joshua; and his friend Red Springs Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
