She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Oscar Walton and Martha Jane Phillips Walton; her husband Rev. Elbert C. Sykes; and her siblings, Carl Walton, Robert Walton, Ralph Walton, Emma McPherson, Edith Fowler, Bertha McVickers and Cornelia Walton.
She is survived by: her children, Ronald Sykes of Loris, SC, Brenda Sykes Brown of Wilmington, NC, Shirley Sykes Horne of Myrtle Beach, SC and Tammy Sykes Freeman (Clay) of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren, Kent Anderson (Kirsten), Rusty Horne (Judi) of Chadbourn, NC, Jeff Horne of Boulder, CO, Eric Brown of Wilmington, NC and Macy Freeman of Lumberton, NC; and her great grandchildren, Kaylyn Rae Horne and Myrtle Beach.
